Fanatic. As you might be already aware, Wayne Kramer from the MC5 has passed away. The MC5 were an inspiration to countless bands and people since they came roaring to life in the 1960s. All three of their albums are great, High Time is my personal favorite. The MC5 was a shared favorite amongst the ranks of Black Flag.
A good read with a lot of info on the MC5.
Grit, Noise, and Revolution: The Birth of Detroit Rock 'n' Roll by David A. Carson
There’s a new Charles Moothart album Black Holes Don’t Choke. It’s really great.
Last night I spent a good bit of time going through the letters and faxes Wayne sent me over the years. We first got in contact in 1983. He had some amazing stories.
I’m trying to get information on the very cool Jaguar 777 12”. Before it was sent to me, I thought it was a two song 7” when it is in fact a 12”. It sounds great. I’m hoping the two tracks are just the start. We’ll get at the other song next and hopefully with more information than we’re able to provide right now.
We’ve got a great show for you. Have a cool weekend and stay Fanatic.
