KCRW brings a unique mix of music, events, news, and cultural content to curious communities around the corner and around the world. We are NPR’s flagship member station in Southern California and a non-profit public media organization. Through our 18-month Report LA Fellowship program we look to diversify public media newsrooms of the future and grow the next generation of journalistic talent.

The Report LA Fellowship program provides professional development through hands-on experiences, access to networking opportunities, and mentorship from some of our top professionals on staff. Fellows contribute to KCRW’s news coverage from day one and learn every aspect of public radio journalism including news and culture show production, audio field recording, reporting news stories, and digital writing. Fellows have access to the vast cultural resources of Southern California and the opportunity to develop their capacity and grow their passions.

KCRW hosts two Report LA Fellows starting on September 5, 2023 through February 2025.  Applications are open now until July 30, 2023.

To apply, please provide a resume, a cover letter introducing yourself and what you find exciting about being a journalist in Southern California, and a few writing samples that showcase your journalistic skills. Please follow this link and apply today!
