We’re back from hiatus to present KCRW’s first Top 30 Chart of 2024. Also back from a hiatus of sorts, Texan trio Khruangin are preparing for the April 5 release of A LA SALA, their first studio album since 2020’s Mordechai. After years of collabs with the likes of Leon Bridges and Vieux Farka Touré, a robust touring schedule, and a series of 2023 Live albums — A LA SALA’s lead single “A Love International” offers a pristine view into a work that promises plenty of the group’s signature snazzy-yet-laid-back grooves. Prepare for the ultimate Khruangbin experience as they take to the desert for Sundays at Coachella 2024, but for now enjoy their (inevitable) placement as KCRW’s first number one artist of the year.
